Reece Pottorff is a three-time Emmy-winning filmmaker from Maui who studied film at CalArts. He has worked with Skydance, NFL Films, and HBO, and on projects with SZA, Childish Gambino, and Gordon Ramsay.

Much of his most meaningful work has been at home. Early on he filmed the late U.S. Poet Laureate W.S. Merwin in the palm forest Merwin spent decades planting, and in 2023 he covered the Lahaina fire for ABC News. Today he shoots across Hawaiʻi and is exploring what generative AI makes possible for independent filmmakers.
